FAQ about School Portraits.

What if my child forgets his/her envelope/money on picture day?
Happens all the time so don't panic. We generally wait a day or two following picture day to process the orders so if your child has forgotten the envelope or money, send it to school the next day. We check with the school for late orders before we begin processing. If it is more than two days after picture day, you will probably need to wait and order online after the orders come back.
If I've completely missed the first ordering deadline, how do I know when I can order?
We photograph every child on picture day, regardless of whether or not they have an order. And every child will receive an envelope when the pictures come back to the school. If you did not place an order on picture day, your child's envelope will be empty, but his/her photo will be on the front of the envelope so you can see what it looks like. There will also be instructions on how to go online and order from that portrait.
If I want to make sure I like my child's picture, I can order later online? Does it cost more?
Yes. If you want to wait until you actually see a "proof" (printed in black and white on the outside of the envelope), you can wait and order after you get the envelope back from the school. The instructions on how to order and your child's unique password are printed on the outside of the envelope. It does cost slightly more and you will be asked to pay shipping, but the advantage to that is that they are sent directly to your home without fear of being crushed, folded or lost in the bottom of a backpack.
How long does it take to get my child's portraits back?
Turn around time on school portraits is generally four to five weeks. We do our very best to get them back to you in a timely manner!
What if I forgot to choose a background color?
Our default background color is gray and that background pretty much goes with everything.
My child is just so darn cute....could I get a keychain, mug or other item with a photo as a gift?
Sure can! Lots of additional items are available by reorder and those instructions can be found on the front of the picture envelope when it comes home to you.
Why can't I pay with my credit card on the envelope?
Government regulations have changed regarding the use of written credit card numbers. For the security of your account and to adhere to the new strict guidelines, we can no longer accept written credit card numbers. If you want to pay with a credit or debit card, simply follow the easy instructions on the order envelope and your order will be a secure transaction.
If I don't have exact change on picture day, will you make change and send it home with my child?
No, sorry. We try to do our best to photograph the children in a timely manner so as not to disrupt school classes, therefore we do not open the envelopes at that time. We ask that you make every attempt to use the correct change if paying with cash. If you absolutely can't, we try to do our best to catch that and include your change with your child's photographs....however, occasionally we miss it!
What about retakes?
Retake day will be printed on the outside of your child's picture envelope. If you wish to have retakes, please return the envelope with all the photographs inside on retake day. Your child's retakes will be processed and returned back to the school for distribution.
Why isn't my child's class composite included with the photographs?
Because we make every effort to include every child in the class composite, those aren't created until after retake day has been completed. Composites are then created and checked by school staff for accuracy and this often happens around holiday time so they frequently are delivered after school resumes the first of the year.
